The first word of verse (43:54) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and verb. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form X perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is khā fā fā (خ ف ف).
