The second word of verse (43:58) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An interrogative alif, noun and possessive pronoun. The prefixed alif is an interrogative particle used to form a question and is usually translated as "is", "are", or "do". The noun is masculine plural and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The noun's triliteral root is hamza lām hā (أ ل ه). The attached possessive pronoun is first person plural.
