The first word of verse (52:15) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An interrogative alif, supplemental particle and noun. The prefixed alif is an interrogative particle used to form a question and is usually translated as "is", "are", or "do". The supplemental particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so". The indefinite noun is masculine and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The noun's triliteral root is sīn ḥā rā (س ح ر).
