The first word of verse (77:1) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and passive participle. The prefixed preposition wa is usually translated as "by" and is used to form an oath. The form IV passive participle is feminine plural and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The passive participle's triliteral root is rā sīn lām (ر س ل). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
