The second word of verse (4:119) is divided into 5 morphological segments. A conjunction, emphatic prefix, verb, emphatic suffix and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form II imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is first person singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is mīm nūn yā (م ن ي). The suffixed emphatic particle is known as the nūn of emphasis (نون التوكيد). The attached object pronoun is third person masculine plural.
