The twentieth word of verse (4:171) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, noun and possessive pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The noun is feminine and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The noun's triliteral root is kāf lām mīm (ك ل م). The attached possessive pronoun is third person masculine singular.
