The twelfth word of verse (2:67) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An interrogative alif, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed alif is an interrogative particle used to form a question and is usually translated as "is", "are", or "do". The form VIII imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is hamza khā dhāl (أ خ ذ). The attached object pronoun is first person plural.
