Text Uthmani:

وَمِنۡهُم مَّن يَقُولُ ٱئۡذَن لِّي وَلَا تَفۡتِنِّيٓۚ أَلَا فِي ٱلۡفِتۡنَةِ سَقَطُواْۗ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيطَةُۢ بِٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ٤٩

French Translation(Muhammad Hamidullah):

Parmi eux il en est qui dit : “Donne-moi la permission (de rester) et ne m’expose pas à la tentation !” Or, c’est bien dans la tentation qu’ils sont tombés; et l’Enfer cerne de toutes parts les mécréants .¹

Rashid Maash:

Tel d’entre eux vient te dire : « Dispense-moi de cette expédition, ne m’expose pas à la tentation. » Ils ont pourtant succombé à la pire des tentations¹. En vérité, la Géhenne cernera les impies de tous côtés.
