وَلَٰكِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَا قُرُونٗا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۚ وَمَا كُنتَ ثَاوِيٗا فِيٓ أَهۡلِ مَدۡيَنَ تَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرۡسِلِينَ ٤٥

Fathul Majid:

বস্তুত আমি অনেক মানবগোষ্ঠীর আবির্ভাব ঘটিয়েছিলাম; অতঃপর তাদের বহু যুগ অতিবাহিত হয়ে গিয়েছে। তুমি তো মাদইয়ানবাসীর মধ্যে বিদ্যমান ছিলে না তাদের নিকট আমার আয়াত তেলাওয়াত করার জন্য। কিন্তু আমিই ছিলাম রাসূল প্রেরণকারী।

বস্তুত আমরা অনেক প্রজন্মের আবির্ভাব ঘটিয়েছিলাম; তারপর তাদের উপর বহু যুগ অতিবাহিত হয়ে গেছে। আর আপনি তো মাদইয়ানবাসীদের মধ্যে বিদ্যমান ছিলেন না যে তাদের কাছে আমাদের আয়াতসমূহ তেলাওয়াত করবেন¹। মূলতঃ আমরাই ছিলাম রাসূল প্রেরণকারী²।
