وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِيَ فِي ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتۡنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصۡرٞ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمۡۚ أَوَلَيۡسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعۡلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ١٠

Fathul Majid:

মানুষের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ বলে: ‘আমরা আল্লাহতে বিশ্বাস করি, কিন্তু আল্লাহর পথে যখন তারা কষ্টপ্রাপ্ত হয়, তখন তারা মানুষের পীড়নকে আল্লাহর শাস্তির মত গণ্য করে এবং তোমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট হতে কোন সাহায্য আসলে তারা বলতে থাকে, ‘আমরা তো তোমাদের সঙ্গেই ছিলাম।’ বিশ্ববাসীর অন্তরে যা আছে আল্লাহ কি তা সম্যক অবগত নন?

আর মানুষের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ বলে, ‘আমরা আল্লাহ্‌র উপর ঈমান এনেছি’¹, কিন্তু আল্লাহ্‌র পথে যখন তারা নিগৃহীত হয়, তখন তারা মানুষের পীড়নকে আল্লাহ্‌র শাস্তির মত গণ্য করে²। আর আপনার রবের কাছ থেকে কোনো সাহায্য আসলে তারা বলতে থাকে, ‘আমরা তো তোমাদের সঙ্গেই ছিলাম³।’ সৃষ্টিকুলের অন্তঃকরণে যা আছে, আল্লাহ্‌ কি তা সম্যক অবগত নন?’
