وَلَئِن سَأَلۡتَهُم مَّنۡ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُۚ قُلۡ أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِنۡ أَرَادَنِيَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ هَلۡ هُنَّ كَٰشِفَٰتُ ضُرِّهِۦٓ أَوۡ أَرَادَنِي بِرَحۡمَةٍ هَلۡ هُنَّ مُمۡسِكَٰتُ رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ قُلۡ حَسۡبِيَ ٱللَّهُۖ عَلَيۡهِ يَتَوَكَّلُ ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلُونَ ٣٨

French Translation(Muhammad Hamidullah):

Si tu leur demandais : "Qui a créé les cieux et la terre ? ", Ils diraient assurément : "Allah". Dis : "Voyez-vous ceux que vous invoquez en dehors d’Allah ; si Allah me voulait du mal, est-ce que [ces divinités] pourraient dissiper Son mal ? Ou s’Il me voulait une miséricorde, pourraient-elles retenir Sa miséricorde ?" - Dis : "Allah me suffit : c’est en Lui que placent leur confiance ceux qui cherchent un appui."

Rashid Maash:

Si tu leur demandes qui a créé les cieux et la terre, ils répondront certainement : « C’est Allah ! » Dis-leur : « Si Allah me destinait un malheur, ces fausses divinités que vous invoquez en dehors de Lui pourraient-elles l’écarter ? Et s’Il me destinait un bonheur, pourraient-elles m’en priver ? » Dis : « Allah me suffit ! C’est à Lui que doivent s’en remettre ceux qui cherchent un appui sûr. »

14	دُونِ	besides	en-dehors
15	ٱللَّهِ	Allah	(d’)Allâh :
16	إِنۡ	if	si
17	أَرَادَنِيَ	Allah intended for me	voulait (pour) moi
18	ٱللَّهُ	Allah intended for me	Allâh
19	بِضُرٍّ	harm	[] du dommage,
20	هَلۡ	are	est-ce qu’
21	هُنَّ	they	elles (seraient)
22	كَٰشِفَٰتُ	removers	des êtres qui peuvent enlever
23	ضُرِّهِۦٓ	(of) harm (from) Him	Son dommage ?
24	أَوۡ	or	Ou s’
25	أَرَادَنِي	if He intended for me	Il voulait (pour) moi
26	بِرَحۡمَةٍ	mercy	[] de la miséricorde,
27	هَلۡ	are	est-ce qu’
28	هُنَّ	they	elles (seraient)
29	مُمۡسِكَٰتُ	withholders	des êtres qui peuvent retenir
30	رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ	(of) His mercy	Sa Miséricorde ? »
31	قُلۡ	Say	Dis :
32	حَسۡبِيَ	Sufficient (is) Allah for me	« Ce qui me suffit
33	ٱللَّهُۖ	Sufficient (is) Allah for me	(est) Allâh.
34	عَلَيۡهِ	upon Him	En Lui
35	يَتَوَكَّلُ	put trust	placent leur confiance
36	ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلُونَ	those who trust	ceux qui placent leur confiance. »
