وأما قبيلة عاد، فأهلكت بالريح الشديدة، التي لها صوت عظيم، والتي تجاوزت كل حد في قوتها.
وابتدأ- سبحانه- بذكر ما أصاب هاتين القبيلتين، لأنهما أكثر القبائل المكذبة معرفة لمشركي قريش، لأنهما من القبائل العربية، ومساكنهما كانت في شمال وجنوب الجزيرة العربية.
