فَقالَ- على سبيل الغرور والجحود- إِنْ هذا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ أى: ما هذا القرآن الذي يقرؤه محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم علينا، إلا سحر مأثور أى: مروى عن الأقدمين، ومنقول من أقوالهم وكلامهم.
