( تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ ) أى : تغشاها وتعلوها ظلمة وسواد ، وذلة وهوان ، من شدة ما أصابها من خزى وخسران . يقال : فلان رهقِه الكرب ، إذا اعتراه وغشيه .
