Translation of Surah At-Tur, ayah 47 (52:47)

وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ عَذَابٗا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٤٧
Also, the wrongdoers will certainly have another torment before that ˹Day˺, but most of them do not know.1

i.e., famine, droughts, or the defeat at the Battle of Badr (see 32:21). The Battle of Badr took place in the 15th year of the Prophet’s mission. The previous passage poses fifteen questions to the Meccan pagans before warning them in this passage.
