وَلَقَدۡ هَمَّتۡ بِهِۦۖ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوۡلَآ أَن رَّءَا بُرۡهَٰنَ رَبِّهِۦۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنَصۡرِفَ عَنۡهُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَٱلۡفَحۡشَآءَۚ إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ ٢٤

Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran:

She advanced towards him, and he would have done likewise, had he not seen a sign from his Lord.¹ This is how We kept evil and indecency away from him, for he was truly one of Our chosen servants.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali & Muhammad Muhsin Khan:

And indeed she did desire him, and he would have inclined to her desire, had he not seen the evidence of his Lord. Thus it was, that We might turn away from him evil and illegal sexual intercourse. Surely, he was one of Our chosen (guided) slaves.
