وَوَصَّيۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ حُسۡنٗاۖ وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشۡرِكَ بِي مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٞ فَلَا تُطِعۡهُمَآۚ إِلَيَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ٨

Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran:

We have commanded people to honour their parents. But if they urge you to associate with Me what you have no knowledge of,¹ then do not obey them. To Me you will ˹all˺ return, and then I will inform you of what you used to do.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali & Muhammad Muhsin Khan:

And We have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents; but if they strive to make you join with Me (in worship) anything (as a partner) of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what you used to do.
