مَا قَطَعۡتُم مِّن لِّينَةٍ أَوۡ تَرَكۡتُمُوهَا قَآئِمَةً عَلَىٰٓ أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيُخۡزِيَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ ٥

Suhel Farooq Khan:

(मोमिनों) खजूर का दरख्त जो तुमने काट डाला या जूँ का तँ से उनकी जड़ों पर खड़ा रहने दिया तो ख़ुदा ही के हुक्म से और मतलब ये था कि वह नाफरमानों को रूसवा करे

Maulana Azizul Haque al-Umari:

(ऐ मुसलमानो!) तुमने जो भी खजूर के पेड़ काटे¹ या उन्हें अपने तनों पर खड़ा रहने दिया, वह अल्लाह के आदेश से हुआ और ताकि अल्लाह अवज्ञाकारियों को अपमानित करे।
