وَلَوۡ دُخِلَتۡ عَلَيۡهِم مِّنۡ أَقۡطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُئِلُواْ ٱلۡفِتۡنَةَ لَأٓتَوۡهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُواْ بِهَآ إِلَّا يَسِيرٗا ١٤

French Translation(Muhammad Hamidullah):

Et si une percée avait été faite sur eux par les flancs de la ville et qu’ensuite on leur avait demandé de renier leur foi, ils auraient accepté certes, et n’auraient guère tardé,

Rashid Maash:

Si l’ennemi avait assailli la cité de tous côtés et les avait contraints à apostasier, ils se seraient exécutés sans tarder.
